🌊 Introduction
Beacon 03

Pick Your
Companion

"The right tool in the right hands can change everything — including the hands."

🎯 What you'll learn

By the end of this Beacon, you'll have a feel for the three AI tools — and a sense of which one clicks with you.

💬 Three tools, three personalities

Same question, three different answers

You've already met them in Beacon 1. Now it's time to get to know them a little better.

ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini can all do similar things — but they have different styles. Like people, really. Same question, three different answers.

There's no best one. There's only the one that feels right to you.

🟢

ChatGPT

Thorough and reliable. Great at explaining things step by step.

Feels like a knowledgeable colleague who always comes prepared.

🟠

Claude

Thoughtful and clear. Excellent at longer texts and nuanced answers.

Feels like a calm, careful editor who actually reads what you wrote.

🔵

Gemini

Friendly and conversational. Gets straight to the point.

Feels like a quick chat with someone who doesn't waste your time.

🧪 Try it now

One prompt, three personalities

Open all three tools and paste the exact same prompt into each one:

Ready-made prompt
"I have to give a short speech at my friend's wedding next month. I've never done this before and I'm a little nervous. Can you help me get started?"

Send it to all three. Then read the answers one by one.

👀 What to notice

You're not looking for the best speech

You're looking at how each tool talks to you.

  • Does it jump straight into structure — or does it acknowledge the nerves first?
  • Does it feel warm, or efficient, or somewhere in between?
  • Is the tone something you'd actually want to read again?

One of them will probably feel more like your kind of helper. That's your companion.

💡 Good to know

You don't have to pick just one

You don't have to stick with your choice forever. Most people end up using two or three tools depending on the task. That's completely normal.

Think of it like pens. You might use a different one for shopping lists and thank-you cards.

Beacon complete

You've met all three.

You've now spent time with all three tools — and you're starting to get a feel for their personalities.

Up next — Beacon 4: Write it better. You'll use AI to write emails, messages, and everyday texts — clearly and confidently.

No rush. Come back whenever you're ready. 🙂
