Your
AI Podcast

"A podcast is just a conversation someone decided to save."

๐ŸŽฏ What you'll learn

By the end of this Beacon, you'll know how to combine two tools you've already used โ€” ElevenLabs and CapCut AI โ€” to create a short, podcast-style audio piece. You'll write a script, turn it into a voice, and polish it into something worth sharing.

๐ŸŽ™ ๏ธ From words to a mini-podcast

A podcast sounds complicated. But at its core, it's just a voice telling a story.

You already know how to do the hard part:

  • In B15, you used ElevenLabs to turn text into a natural-sounding voice.
  • In B17, you used CapCut AI to add captions and audio edits to a video.

In this Beacon, you'll combine them โ€” write a short script, generate the voice with ElevenLabs, then bring it into CapCut to add a music background and simple polish.

No microphone. No recording studio. Just a few lines of text and two tools you've already met.

โœ ๏ธ Writing your script

The script is everything. A good podcast moment doesn't need to be long โ€” it needs to feel like someone is talking to you, not at you.

Here's a simple format that works every time:

  1. Open with a question or a moment โ€” something the listener can relate to
  2. Share a thought or a little story โ€” 3โ€“5 sentences is plenty
  3. End with one takeaway โ€” something they'll remember

Aim for around 60โ€“90 words. That's roughly 30โ€“45 seconds of audio โ€” the perfect length for a first attempt.

You can write the script yourself, or ask an AI chatbot to help you draft one. Just give it a topic and say: "Write me a short, friendly 60-word podcast script about [your topic]."

๐Ÿงช Try it now
1
Create your voice clip in ElevenLabs

Go to https://elevenlabs.io and sign in.

Write or paste your script into the text box. Choose a voice that matches the mood โ€” warm, calm, and conversational works best for a podcast feel. Generate the audio and download the MP3 file to your device โ€” use the download icon (โฌ‡) in the bottom right corner of the player.

Here's a ready-made script if you'd like to start with something:

Ready-made script
Have you ever felt like there's just too much to learn and not enough time? I used to feel that way about technology. Then I started experimenting โ€” just five minutes a day, no pressure. Turns out, curiosity is the only skill you actually need. Everything else follows.
2
Add music and finish it in CapCut AI

Go to https://www.capcut.com, click + Create new in the top left corner, then choose 16:9 (or Blank canvas) under Video to open the timeline editor.

Click Upload in the top left panel (or drag and drop your file) to import your downloaded MP3 as the main audio track. Then browse the Audio tab and add a soft background track โ€” look for "podcast", "calm", or "lo-fi" in the search bar. Click the background music track in the timeline, then use the Volume slider in the right panel to bring it down to around 20โ€“30% โ€” so the voice stays clearly in front. Also drag the end of the music track to trim it to the same length as your voice clip.

When you're done, click the Export button in the top right corner, then select Download at the bottom of the panel. Leave the export settings as they are (720p, MP4) and click Export to save your finished piece. Note: CapCut saves as MP4 by default โ€” that's normal, it will still play as audio.

Idea bank โ€” pick a topic that feels natural to you:

  1. Something small you learned recently
  2. A morning habit you've kept (or tried to keep)
  3. One thing that surprised you about AI
  4. A place you've always wanted to visit
  5. Advice you'd give your younger self
  6. A book, film, or song that stayed with you
  7. One thing that made you smile this week

Screens and menus may look slightly different โ€” that's normal. Just explore and you'll find your way. ๐Ÿ˜Š

👀 What to notice

When you play back your finished clip, pay attention to one thing: does it sound like a real person talking?

Notice the small pauses between sentences. Notice how the background music changes the whole mood โ€” the same voice feels completely different over calm piano versus an upbeat beat.

That's the insight: a podcast isn't really about the recording quality. It's about the atmosphere. And you just built that atmosphere entirely in software.

๐Ÿ’ก Good to know

Free plan heads-up: ElevenLabs has a monthly character limit on the free tier โ€” a short script like this uses very little of it. CapCut's free plan is fully capable for this project.

Your voice, your rules: You can use the AI-generated voice exactly as it is โ€” or treat it as a rough draft. Some people listen back and rewrite the script until the voice sounds just right. That back-and-forth is part of the process.

Video or no video? Your call. When you import an audio file into CapCut, the preview will be black โ€” that's normal. You can either upload a photo or image to use as a background, or simply download the project as-is. Both work perfectly. Try it both ways and see what you prefer.

โœ… Beacon complete

You just made a podcast. With a script, a voice, a soundtrack โ€” the whole thing.

You've now completed the full Video & Audio block. From voice cloning to music generation to captions to video to podcast โ€” you've covered more ground than most people ever will.

Up next โ€” B20: Plan your week. We're moving into the Everyday Productivity block. You'll see how AI can help you think through your week, organize tasks, and actually stay on top of things โ€” without any complicated apps.

No rush. Come back whenever you're ready. 🙂
