"Motion is emotion. Even a few seconds can tell a whole story."
In this Beacon, you'll generate your first AI video clip.
You'll use a tool called Pika to turn a simple text description into a short moving image.
No camera. No editing software. No experience needed.
Just words โ and a little curiosity.
Pika is an AI video generator you can use directly in your browser.
You describe a scene in plain English, and Pika creates a short video clip from scratch.
It has a genuinely free tier โ daily credits, no credit card required โ and it signs in with your Google account in one click.

Until recently, making video meant cameras, editing software, and hours of work.
AI video generators change that. You type what you want to see โ and the tool builds the moving images from scratch.
The clips are short. The results aren't always perfect. Something might move in a slightly strange way.
But for a first experiment? They're genuinely surprising.
The key is to describe a scene, not an idea.
Instead of: "something peaceful"
Try: "A small wooden boat drifting on a calm lake at sunrise, light mist over the water"
Think in three layers:
What's in the scene? A person, an animal, a landscape, an object.
What's happening? Floating, glowing, walking slowly, falling gently.
What's the mood or setting? Morning light, foggy forest, golden hour, quiet street.
Short and visual works better than long and abstract.
Go to ๐ https://pika.art and sign in with your Google account.
Find the "Describe your story" text box at the bottom of the screen. Choose one of the ideas below โ or invent your own โ and hit the generate button.
Here are some scenes to try โ or copy this one to get started:
Or pick any of these:
Your clip will appear in the Library tab. If you see "High demand right now" โ that's normal, just wait a minute or two.
Then watch it. Watch it again.
To save it, hover over the clip and click the download icon that appears on the right side.
Notice what surprised you โ good or strange.
Screens and menus may look slightly different โ that's normal. Just explore and you'll find your way. ๐
Pick one thing in the clip that's supposed to be moving โ water, wind, fire, a floating object โ and watch it carefully.
Is the motion smooth? Does it loop? Does something wobble in a way that looks slightly off?
That moment when something moves almost right, but not quite โ that's the model working at the edge of what it knows. AI video generation is still learning how the physical world behaves.
The aha: the tool can already create the feeling of a scene โ even when the details aren't perfect yet.
The free tier gives you a set number of credits each day.
They reset every 24 hours โ so if you run out, just come back tomorrow.
Free clips will have a small watermark and are capped at around 5 seconds. That's plenty for experimenting.
You just generated your first AI video. That's not a small thing. ๐ฌ
Next up โ Beacon 19: You'll turn an audio track and a voice into a full podcast-style listening experience. A different kind of creative โ and surprisingly easy.
No rush. Come back whenever you're ready. 🙂
